I am a qualitative user experience researcher within Facebook Core App. I specialize in using ethnographic methods to uncover foundational insights into how and why people use Facebook, including their motivations, needs, challenges and assumptions about Facebook products.
I received my PhD from Columbia University, where I wrote my dissertation on the history of the concept of anxiety. While at Columbia, I was a Visiting Assistant Professor of History at Reed College. Following my PhD, I held a position as Collegiate Assistant Professor of the Social Sciences at the University of Chicago. Prior to joining Facebook, I was a manager at ReD Associates, a boutique strategy consultancy based in Copenhagen and New York. While at ReD, I mostly worked within the healthcare and medical technology sectors.
