I am a UX researcher on Facebook’s news feed integrity team, and I am interested in understanding the social psychological factors that affect the tone and quality of people’s online conversations. Before joining Facebook, I received my BS in Psychology from Texas Christian University, and then my MS and PhD degrees from the University of Texas at Arlington, where I specialized in social/personality psychology and statistics. During graduate school, my research focused primarily on trust, friendship formation, and the initial interactions between strangers. In my program of research, I enjoyed using a function-based approach (guided by evolutionary psychology) for understanding these interpersonal processes. Outside of work, I enjoy running, traveling, cooking, kayaking, and going on long hikes around the Bay!
