I am a user experience researcher on Facebook’s virtual reality team. I am interested in how new technologies like virtual reality can be used to create novel social and educational experiences. Prior to joining Facebook, I completed my PhD in learning sciences and technology design at the Stanford Graduate School of Education. At Stanford I studied educational applications of immersive VR as part of the Virtual Human Interaction Laboratory. I conducted the first studies to take VR out of the lab into actual classrooms, collaborating with high school teachers to turn their marine biology students into coral as a way of connecting them to the effects of climate change.
