I’m a researcher on the Profile team, currently focusing on Major Life Events and Memorialization, or what happens to your account when you die. Both are really fascinating and challenging product spaces.

Before coming to Facebook, I led the research team at Normative, a software design studio in Toronto. Prior to that I received my PhD in linguistic anthropology from the University of Pennsylvania. I conducted my dissertation fieldwork at MTV Canada, studying that most exotic of species known as the television producer. I looked at how various actors in the production organization use different technologies of measurement (that often yield contradicting data) to understand who their audience is and what they want to see.
