Igor L. Markov

Research Scientist

I am part of the Smart Decisions group within the Probability team. I previously worked on Content Quality and Social Dynamics under Newsfeed Integrity. Prior to Facebook, I worked on Search Infrastructure at Google and was a Full Professor (CSE) at the University of Michigan. I am an IEEE Fellow and an ACM Distinguished Scientist.

I am broadly interested in algorithms, optimization, and machines that build machines. My current focus is on applying machine learning to important challenges at Facebook. I previously worked extensively on computer-aided design of integrated circuits, formal verification and SAT-solving, and hardware security. I maintain a long-running interest and expertise in quantum computing.
