Gary Mak

Systems Engineer

I am a systems engineer working on connectivity programs at Facebook. My research interests range from free space optical communications and unconventional communications to novel wireless and satellite communications systems.┬áPrior to joining Facebook, I worked at Ciena where we developed the world’s first coherent fiber optics systems. I received my PhD degree in physics from the University of Toronto and was a von Humboldt fellow at the Max Planck Institute for Solid State Research.
