I am a postdoctoral researcher joining Facebook in February 2017. I obtained my PhD at the University of Trento under the direction of Marco Baroni where I worked in the area of distributional semantics, understanding the strengths and limitations of distributional models when trying to account for the richness of human conceptual knowledge. My long-term research goal is to endow machines with the learning methods that would enable them to communicate and interact with natural language. I believe that ultimately this research avenue should also teach us something fundamental about how our own intelligence works.
