I am a research manager in the Facebook Protect and Care group. I support a team of researchers focused on support: from teaching people how to use Facebook more effectively, to direct support for solving problems, helping people report bad experiences and unwanted content effectively, and by ensuring our back-end tools provide a fast and supportive experience. I bring a quantitative lens to solving problems, while learning new methods.
Prior to Facebook, I was a researcher at Boeing, where my projects included immune system-inspired techniques for virus and malware detection in on-board airplane networks. I received my PhD from University of Michigan’s School of Information, and a BA in Art History from Cornell University.
