Research Scientist

Viet Ha-Thuc is a research scientist and tech lead for Search Relevance at Facebook. Prior to Facebook, he technically led machine learning efforts for improving search quality across all LinkedIn search products, including people search, job search, and content search on the consumer side as well as recruiter search on the premium side. Some of his recent work on industrial search engines has been published at SGIR 19, CIKM 17, SIRIP 16, SIGIR Tutorial 16, KDD 16, WWW 16, Big Data 15 (received Best Application Paper Award), and CIKM 15 as well as featured in around 20 patents. Before LinkedIn, he was a scientist in Content Understanding group at Yahoo! Labs. He received a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Iowa.
