Alonso de Gortari

Research Scientist

I am an economist specialized in the areas of international economics and globalization, and am currently working on the macroeconomic and financial inclusion aspects of the Libra cryptocurrency at Novi. My previous research studied the implications of global supply chains for the world economy and for international trade agreements such as NAFTA. My research has been cited in The New York Times, The Economist, and Forbes, and I was awarded the 2018 Best Essay Award by the World Trade Organization. I received my PhD in Economics from Harvard University in 2018 and was subsequently a Postdoctoral Researcher at Princeton University and an Assistant Professor of Economics at Dartmouth College.
