At Facebook, I am building distributed systems for reliable metadata storage and data distribution at scale. Prior to joining Facebook, I was a Professor of Computer Science at the University of Michigan, where I developed systems for energy-efficient computing, mobile and edge computing, reliable storage, deterministic record and replay, and automatic diagnosis of configuration problems.
I am a Fellow of the ACM, and I am currently Vice Chair for ACM SIGMOBILE, the Special Interest Group for mobile computing. I have co-chaired the TPC for various conferences including OSDI, FAST, MobiSys, and the ACM/IEEE Symposium on Edge Computing. My work on energy-aware adaptation has received SIGMOBILE’s Test of Time award.
