I am a research scientist at Facebook AI Research and an assistant professor of computer science and data science at New York University. I was a postdoctoral fellow at University of Montreal until summer 2015 under the supervision of Prof. Yoshua Bengio, and received PhD and MSc degrees from Aalto University early 2014 under the supervision of Prof. Juha Karhunen, Dr. Tapani Raiko and Dr. Alexander Ilin. I try my best to find a balance among machine learning, natural language processing, and life, but almost always fail to do so.

I have three broad research ares of interest: (1) structured object generation: structured output prediction and neural sequence modeling; (2) languages and intelligence: natural language processing, emergent communication; (3) applications of machine learning: deep learning for medical imaging, deep learning for natural sciences (particle physics and molecular chemistry)
