I am the Director of Research for the Facebook Engagement team. My team conducts research focused on inspiring new products and ensuring that current products are useful, usable, and delightful. Before joining Facebook, I led the Google Search User Experience Research (UER) team and multiple UER teams at Yahoo!, including the Front Page, My Yahoo!, Groups, IM, and advertising experience teams. I also worked as Director of Scientific Affairs at Alertness Solutions, an international consulting firm founded by researchers from the NASA Jet Lag and Fatigue Countermeasures Program, and co-authored a book, The Time Paradox, which investigates how our attitudes toward time influence our lives. I have a PhD in experimental social psychology from Stanford University and a BA in economics from UCLA.
