Bobo Bose-Kolanu

Research Scientist

I am a Complex Systems Scientist with work across multiple areas of the company, including Facebook Connectivity Labs, Messenger, and Integrity. My research focuses on the interaction between nested complex systems, exploring how phase changes at one “layer” of the stack create opportunity or risk at others. I have worked on areas including low level protocol design, ML, reverse engineering markets, aggregate social risk, and new technology incubation. I take a transdisciplinary and collaborative approach, inspired by human and technological design.

I received my PhD in media theory from the literature department at Duke, with a concurrent master’s in computer science. I hold an AB in filmmaking from Harvard.
