Kashif Ali is an engineer at Facebook, founder and leading the OpenCellular project with the mission to provide sustainable open-source rural-access solutions for connecting the un-connected. He also serves as chair of the OpenCellular project group at TIP and does architecture and development work on various OpenCellular projects.
Kashif completed his post-doctoral work at University of California, Berkeley, in rural connectivity and his PhD from Queen’s University in Canada. He co-founded Endaga, a company focused on rural connectivity via empowering community cellular networks. He has won numerous awards, prestigious scholarships and is author of more than 50 patents, journal and conference papers.
