Brown University

I am a PhD candidate in Computer Science at Brown University, co-advised by Malte Schwarzkopf and Tim Kraska. My research focuses on making big data systems more robust and less painful to use, as well as faster and more efficient using speculative compilation techniques. My recent Tuplex system maintains the productivity of Python, but combines it with a crash-free execution model and a JIT compiler that improves execution speed by orders of magnitude over current big data systems. Before joining Brown, I received my SM from Harvard, a BSc from TU Munich, and worked in BMW’s self-driving car group.
